OVERVIEW

ICM is made to provide an easy to use tool for creating campaigns for IE games (IEGs).
It handles all the needed files you need to create your campaign, and has an integrated browser to mantain all your custom resources (items, creatures, sounds, anims, scripts...). Even more, it automatically creates a 'campaign map' similar to the world map, which shows all the connections between your campaign area's.
ICM is fully integrated with the game. You will not have to extract any resource manually. When ICM needs a resource, asks for the needed CD and extracts all the needed files to your campaign/resource folders. Once you'd like to test your campaign, ICM displays a list of all the files that must be overrided (resources) or overwrited (KEY, TLK, worldmap) or created (new BIFs...), and copies them to the IEG required folders.

ICM supports Bladur's Gate 1 & 2, Icewind Dale

ICm does not support editing of the following  resources or file types, because there are currently  software available for this puropses. They are really great, so it would be a waste of time to remake what is already well done!

-Items & spells: Item & Spell Editor by Gustav Montessi (ICM resource browser support) Dialogs: Infinity Dialog Utility by Paul Victorey (ICM resource browser support)

ICM TUTORIAL

You must have at least ICM v. 1.00.0077 to follow the tutorial.

The tutorial is based on Baldur's Gate 1, but you can follow it easily with BG2 or IWD by selecting similar areas to use.

This is a list of the related IE concepts you need to know to create a campaign for an IE game using Infinity Campaign Maker. These concepts may seem a little borring but they are a MUST!

OVERVIEW

STEP BY STEP CREATION OF A CAMPAIGN

We are going to create a small adventure called 'Plague!'. Follow the steps with ICM while reading the tutorial.

The plot will be simple. Adventurers begin in the 'Dragon Rune Inn'. Many years ago, this was one of the most famous Inn of the Forgotten Realms, but decadence came, and now few travellers come here. Due to this low traffic, the lower levels of the Inn were closed by the grandfather of the inner. Yesterday, the inner daughter went to the cellar for a bottle of wine, and never returned. Strange sounds come from the lower level, and the PCs have to enter them and check out what's going on there, and rescue, if still alive, the inner daughter.
