A: Editing is simple and merely dependent on what how the item is presented. If it is a value or a reference name then merely double click on the box showing the value/reference to bring up the appropriate editing screen. If it is a drop down menu, then click the little downward pointing arrow tip next to the box and it will show you all your choices available in a list below it. Simply click the choice you want and it will change to that. Q: Okay I got to editing values and when I edit the Effects themselves it shows weird values with the Parameters. What are these weird values shown with the Parameters in the Effect screen? A: The values are displayed in Hexidecimal format, which is base 16 format, instead of the Decimal format, which is a base 10. Q: Okay how do I know what to edit on the Effects screen to make this particular Effect work? A: Simply edit one of the Parameters and it will bring up a screen that will tell you what needs to be filled out in order to make the Effect work. Q: I put values in the Parameter section but when I see them in the Parameter Edit or Effects screen they look nothing like what I put in. Why is this? A: The values are displayed in Hexidecimal format, which is base 16 format, instead of the Decimal format, which is a base 10. When you click the value to edit it, the value is converted into Decimal format for you while editing. Q: I’ve made a scroll with the program, but how do I get it into my game? A: First you must do one of the following: 1. Edit the baldur.ini file located in the main directory of your Baldur’s Gate directory and add a line saying’Cheats=1’ to the section entitled ‘[Game Options]’. Now load up Baldur’s Gate normally and go into your game and hit Control-Tab and a window will pop up near the bottom of the screen. Type in ‘CLUAConsole:CreateItem("XXXXXXXX")’ where XXXXXXXX is the name of the scroll you created with the program. The item should appear in your characters inventory. 2. Edit the character using the Character Control Editor from TeamBG and add the item to their inventory manually. Q: Okay I’ve gotten the scroll with my character, but it doesn’t show an option of letting me memorize it when I read its description. How do I memorize it? A: The Scroll of Knowledge is used as a quick item. Put it in a quick item slot then use it from the game screen. This will activate its magic and your character will have a chance to learn the spell based off their intelligence as normal. Q: I used the scroll but the spell didn’t show up in my list, what did I do wrong? A: Nothing, the scroll allows you a chance to learn a spell based off of your intelligence. Therefore, sometimes you don’t always learn it as is the case when you try to learn a spell like from a regular spell scroll in the game.
