The TeamBG Mission |
Every
since Baldur's Gate first came out (at the end of December 1998), it
was obvious that computer RPG's had a great new future ahead of them.
Gone was the legacy of the SSI style TSR games and in their place
(after a failed attempt with Descent to Undermountain) comes the next
generation of CRPGs.
Baldur's Gate was made in
such a way that it was obvious that with the right effort, it could be
expanded upon, and this is our mission. Our ultimate goal is to allow
players and/or Dungeon Masters to be able to use our 3rd party
utilities to expand upon the games using the Infinity Engine which has
been used for Baldur's Gate/Tales of the Sword Coast, Planescape:
Torment, Icewind Dale and is also being used for the up and coming
sequel to BG...not suprisingly called Baldur's Gate II.
Our end goal is to even
allow the creation of new maps, dialog scripts and thus completely new
adventures and scenarios. This will take time and we are concentrating
our efforts on pieces of the puzzle and making great progress currently
with custom items, spells, creatures, characters, graphics (BAMs), and
AI scripting. With some luck and hard work, hopefully Baldur's Gate
will allow us to truely create a CRPG system for use by the AD&D public at large.

The TeamBG Team Members |
The only people who are actually considered TeamBG team members are
those who actually use their programming skills to create our
utilities. There are a very few who do this and they deserve all the
praise. You can check the "About" sections of the available utilities
to see who is the responsible sole for the particular utility(ies)
which you are using.
There are also many loyal
supporters of TeamBG who help out in discovering new data structures,
assisting those who need help on our message boards, and also those who
create and/or host the TeamBG Partner Sites (also known as custom item
sites) and the downloads available on these sites. These people have
gained my respect and also deserve the same from you if you appreciate
what you find here.
As always, enjoy and have fun! |
